Baby Landyn | Brand New

I am late on posting this session, but ahhh….life! I thoroughly enjoyed meeting this beautiful baby girl and her sweet parents in the studio last month.
She was just perfect for me….such a sweet angel baby. Welcome to the world, baby Landyn!

Welcome to the world, baby Trevor!

This sweet family welcomed baby #3….a baby BOY….this past month. It was such an honor to be chosen again to capture this sweet little guy and their entire family at their session a few weeks ago. He is so incredibly loved and it was just such a joy to spend my morning with them. This share is going to be another big one because well…..I can’t help myself. Newborns have my heart!

Baby Elizabeth is ONE!

Oh, this sweet girl! Loved meeting up with her and her family to capture her as she turned the big ONE this past month! She has grown SO much since I saw her for her newborn session last year. You can get a peek at that session HERE. She was a little unsure of me at first, but quickly warmed up and was sooo happy. And just the sweetest. Happy birthday, beautiful girl!

The Menendez Family | Sebastian is 6 months!

Always, always, ALWAYS a pleasure hanging with the sweet Menendez family! Been photographing their family since biggest sister was just turning 1….and every session just gets a little sweeter. And sweet baby Bash is growing so fast….can’t wait to see them again this summer for his 1 year session!

Newborn Sessions…..Lifestyle vs. Studio

Happy January, friends!! It has been a while since I blogged….but I am back and ready for a new year! A new year of doing what I love and capturing you and your sweet families special moments!

I get a TON of inquiries for newborn sessions and this question comes up a lot when chatting with clients…..what is the difference between a lifestyle newborn session and a posed studio newborn session? I offer both and love both so much for different reasons. I will say that *most* of my clients end up booking posed studio sessions, but I absolutely LOVE shooting lifestyle sessions with newborns. They are my heart, and I adore the images that come out of those sessions. Newborn anything has always and always will be my sweet spot. I just love being there to capture new life….these sweet miracles are ever-changing and at a much more rapid pace those first few weeks. It is SO important to capture them so fresh and new….regardless of what type of session you book to capture them.

I will throw a few images in as examples below as well, but let’s chat for a few about the differences! Posed studio sessions take place here in my home studio in south Denton. I have a cozy little room that gets just the right amount of natural light needed to capture beautiful images of your new little one. I have backdrops, props, baskets and buckets….and a ton of soft knit wraps, headbands and bonnets to be used in your session. Posed studio sessions are mainly focused on baby…and baby alone. They last anywhere from 3-4 hours…we are working at the mercy of your sweet babe, and they are calling the shots. We will work as long and as hard as possible to keep baby sleepy and to get those sweet sleepy baby shots. Lifestyle sessions take place in the comfort of your own home. Most of the session will take place in your master bedroom and the nursery…..and I will sometimes shoot a little bit in the living room if you wish. These sessions are a more relaxed approach to getting shots of your sweet babe. They focus more on the family unit with the baby…and the interactions with the baby. I will not attempt to keep baby asleep for these images. Most will include mom, dad, and siblings. I do spend a little bit of time with baby alone and get a handful of shots of baby alone. But again, the main focus of lifestyle newborn sessions is to capture you and your family with your newest little addition. I do bring along a few wraps and headbands to be used in these shots, but my props and backdrops do not travel with me. Lifestyle sessions last up to 2 hours.

Here are a few examples of images that I have captured in past lifestyle newborn sessions….

And a handful of posed images that took place in my home studio! 🙂

If you would like to book a newborn session, you can do so by emailing me at monicatorresphotography@gmail.com or by submitting a contact form from the contact tab at the top of my website. I look forward to hearing from you….and I simply cannot wait to meet and capture your newest little miracle! <3
